Alison Bradley Tulip Bulbs - COMING SEPTEMBER 7TH AT 5PM

Sale price$24.95

Alison Bradley is a rich velvety, deep purple tulip, with a double layer of petals, giving it the appearance of a peony in the early spring garden. For a striking contrast, pair Alison Bradley with blush tulips, such as Finola or Dreamer.

If you want to perennialize your tulips, it’s important to leave at least two sets of leaves on the stem when harvesting to replenish the bulb and give it energy to bloom the following season. Here at Dahlia May, we grow our tulips for cut flower production, meaning that we treat our tulips as annuals, and pull up the entire plant, bulb and all, during harvest. In your home garden, there is no need to lift the bulb in the spring after flowering. Allow the foliage of your plant to die back naturally after blooming, as this process aids in feeding the bulb for the subsequent year.

We find that many specialty tulips do not typically perennialize well in the garden. You'll be able to enjoy their blooms for one spring, and blooming in any subsequent years can be a wonderful bonus.
